NP - Hounded by a mother and father who followed her around on campus and clandestinely monitored her movements using electronic tracking software, an Ohio musical theatre student has successfully obtained a stalking order against her parents.  It was “like I was a dog with a collar on,” Aubrey Ireland, a 21-year-old student at the University of Cincinnati, told an Oct. 9 court hearing, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.  According to a judge’s ruling this month, Julie and David Ireland must stay at least 150 metres from their daughter at all times and could face criminal charges if they have any contact with their only child before Sept. 23, 2013.

Ms. Ireland was one of only a few students to be accepted into the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, one of the most elite and exclusive music schools in the United States.  David and Julie Ireland turned up unannounced at their daughter’s university, claiming Aubrey, 21, was mentally unstable and should be taken to hospital.  Soon afterward, her parents began routinely driving nine hours from their home in Kansas to Cincinnati for unannounced visits, where they accused her of problems with drugs, promiscuity and mental illness.

This year, when they began harassing university officials with plans to legally force their daughter into treatment, Ms. Ireland took the case to court.  During court proceedings and an abortive mediation, the parents revealed they had installed key-loggers and tracking software on their daughter’s cellphone and laptop without her knowledge. For months, the two would have had access to her emails, social media interactions and phone calls.  “It’s just been really embarrassing and upsetting to have my parents come to my university when I’m a grown adult and just basically slander my name and follow me around.”

But the Irelands said they were simply looking out for the best interests of their only daughter to ensure she did not ruin her chances at success.  “She’s an only child who was catered to all her life by loving parents,” Julie Ireland said in court, the Daily Mail reported. ‘We’re not bothering her. We’re not a problem.”

 

Reason #4093039503550 why you either force feed your wife birth control or just stick a condom on and leave it there permanently.  What’s the point of having kids?  So you can sit there biding your time twiddling your thumbs just waiting for them to stab you in the back?  Seriously has anyone ever been less appreciative of their parents than this chick?  Hey mom and dad, thanks for spending your lives working your asses off to send me to this prestigious music school at the University of Cincinnati, here’s my tuition check, and also here’s the restraining order I just got on your ass.  Unreal.  Oh and please stop making the 9 hour drive out here to take me out to dinner and take me dorm room shopping at Target with your credit card.  That’s suchhh a pain in my ass.

I mean has anybody actually looked into this girl?  Or are we all just taking her word for it that her parents are the crazy ones?  Don’t think a mom and dad would take the trouble of installing key-loggers in her laptop and software tracking on her cell without at least a little bit of good reason.  Just so over the top that there’s got to be some cause.  Feel like everyone is so busy jumping all over these people labeling them “helicopter parents” that nobody took the time to find out if this chick is in fact a mentally unstable drug dealing slut.
