SB Nation – On Monday evening, Alex Collins chose the Arkansas Razorbacks. Collins is one of the highest rated recruits in the country, a five-star running back out of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) South Plantation High School. But not everyone was happy that Collins chose Arkansas over the hometown Miami Hurricanes. In particularly, Collins’ mom was rumored to be unhappy with his choice. Collins had a hard upbringing and doesn’t live with his mom, but instead with his coach Doug Gatewood. But mommas are still mommas, and Collins’ was known to be strongly in favor of him staying home and signing with the Miami Hurricanes.
12:40 Update: Corey Long reported on ESPN that Collins’ mom has upstaged his signing ceremony and is refusing to let him sign his letter of intent to Arkansas. In fact, she cannot even be found.
“The papers are not there. I’ve been told by two different sources that Alex Collins’ mom confiscated the papers and took off and ran with them. They are looking for her currently. From what I understand, Alex is not at the school right now, he is looking for his mom. She was quite torn up about him leaving.”
Love it. Don’t mess with big Mama! Seriously here’s a hint Alex. When the woman who carried you in her stomach for 9 months, pushed you out of her vagina, and nurtured you and cared for you tells you she wants you to stay close to home and go to Miami, you go to fucking Miami. I don’t care how rough things got between the two of you. If you go against her and choose Arkansas that’s your right I guess, just don’t be surprised when she takes your LOI and bolts. Trust me, you’re going to want to rethink this. Not worth having an angry mother and dealing with that shit for the rest of your life. Nothing wrong with swag city.
