Before I say anything else I want to make it clear that from what I’ve seen Deion Barnes seems like a genuinely good guy. Like I said last week I’m pretty much on his side here, and the truth is as much as I love to act like I know what I’m talking about when I make broad generalizations about the inner workings of athletic departments and football scholarships they’re based almost entirely on personal experience. Maybe things aren’t as cushy for the players at PSU. It wouldn’t be the first time they did things differently than everyone else. But I have kind of a hard time sympathizing with someone who buys a new winter coat every year and has shit like this on Instagram:
I’m not telling this dude how to spend his money. When you take into consideration that being a human giraffe means 90% of the shirts I buy make it look like I’m wearing a midget’s maternity dress I’ve also never been a big fashion guy. That’s why the majority of my wardrobe is gym shorts and Barstool tanks. I also don’t think I could pull out an arm sleeve tat so that might be jealousy talking. But I kind of have a hard time feeling bad when you complain you can’t afford clothes and you’re wearing a new fitted in every picture you post. I’m not saying he doesn’t have a point, just less of a point than he could have made if social media didn’t exist.
