Mashable - Inmates at the max security Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center have put their spin on Psy’s “Gangnam Style.” Soaked from rain, the orange-clad inmates performed an elaborate choreographed dance routine set to the infectious Korean pop song over the weekend. Some wore black, while all had the letter “P” on their tops. After first going viral in 2007 with the Michael Jackson dance number, inmates put on performances each month for tourists. Prison officials halted the dance shows in March because of a “near-riot” during a rehearsal, according to Filipino news outlets.
How awesome is this prison? Yes this is the same one that did the crazy viral Thriller dance years ago. Apparently their thing is choreographed dance routines as a means of rehabilitation. Which seems a lot cooler than “20 minutes of outdoors time trying not to get shivved and/or butt raped” like our prisons. Seriously if you’re a violent criminal and don’t feel like giving up the lifestyle at least pack your bags and take your act down to the Philippines. That way if you get caught you can look forward to taking part in super fun group dances with hot Filipino chicks booty dropping to top 40 hits instead of massive skinhead Nazis making you booty drop in the showers.
