LONG ISLAND, NYA Williston Park man has been charged with attempted second degree murder after an argument over the AMC TV series “The Walking Dead” prompted him to shoot his longtime girlfriend, Nassau Police said.  Jared Gurman, 26, was out early Tuesday morning when an argument over the hit cable show spilled over into heated text messaging that culminated when he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the back using a .22 caliber rifle, police said.  “He’s passionate about it and that’s what started the argument,” Det. Lt. Ray Cote said in a press briefing at Nassau County Police headquarters in Mineola Tuesday afternoon. “… That argument got to such a argumentative point where the young lady decided she didn’t want to spend the night at his place and was going to go home.”  The woman, whose name was being withheld, had been dating Gurman for about three-and-a-half to four years. She picked him up at a bar and drove him home. After she left their argument continued via text.

A lot of people are going to judge this guy for maybe overreacting a little bit over something so small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  Not me.   I do not fuck around when it comes to TV and as a matter of fact I can’t think of many things worth getting in a heated argument about more than TV.  Granted I doubt I’d ever shoot someone in their back over it but still.  Shit gets real when you’re dealing with idiots and their dumb opinions.   People who think Homeland   is better than the first prime years of 24.  People who think the Wire is better than Breaking Bad.  People who like The Newsroom. People who don’t like this season of Dexter.   Ha, yeah right.  Take this bullet.  Maybe it will help you learn how to watch TV correctly.

And not to pile on Gurman’s girlfriend here or anything but let’s be real.  If you’re dating someone for 4 years without seeing the warning signs that he’s capable of loading up his rifle, cocking it, aiming it, and shooting you with a bullet because of a text message argument over a zombie apocalypse show on AMC you kind of take on a little bit of the blame there.   Oh and that show sucks to begin with so I hope that was at least your stance in all of it.
